What Is My Story?

My story has always been fun for me to tell because I feel like a big kid telling it. I was born in Roswell, New Mexico on Friday the 13th. I grew up there until I was 6 years old when my father moved our family to San Antonio, Texas. I have always been passionate about having fun in life and that is where my parents gave me the nickname “The Saint of Mischief”.

In 2005, I joined the United States Marine Corps and I served 15 years. That is when I first got my passion for drones. I was offered a new job as a UAV Marine, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, but instead I went into communications. While I was active-duty, I met my wife in 2008 when I was stationed in North Carolina. Our family grew and we have four children, which as you can imagine is never a dull moment in our house.

In 2020, I left the United States Marine Corps with an Honorable Discharge and decided to continue serving our country’s veterans by working at the local Veteran Affairs Hospital in Amarillo, Texas. While working at the Veteran Affairs Hospital I started going to college and obtained a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Data Analysis with Green & Sustainable Management. While going to college and working in a cubicle for most of the workday, I realized that I was not meant to just sit behind a desk. My grandparents told me growing up, “Find a job that you love, and you will never work another day in your life.” That quote still rings true to this day for me.

My wife and our four children have always been my biggest support in everything I do. From my active-duty days in the United States Marine Corps to our life after the United States Marine Corps. My wife and children are the ones that have always kept me motivated and encouraged me in everything I do. So, what does an over 40-year-old big kid do after 20 years of Federal Service? We fly drones and have fun doing it.
